Uruguay

The last day (or part of it) of our Antarctic trip was spent in Montevideo which is the capital of Urugauy.

Uruguay is a very small country as can be seen below. We didn't see much of it as we were only in port part of the day.

Someone said we had to stop there because the Argentines don't like ships coming directly from The Malvinas (aka The Falkland Islands and South Georgia Island)... who knows if that's the truth? Sometimes people just like to make shit up.

So we went on a little bus ride and then back to the ship for lunch and then a little walk about. Tomorrow we'll be in Buenos Aires and that'll be the end of the cruise.

So just a few pics.

Parliament building (I think) I reaallllly gotta start paying attention.

These people are serious bar-b-q ers. Not sure exactly what's cooking (pig, cow, dog or goat) but I bet it's tasty when done.

And of course we have to try the local beer and, as usual, it was very tasty. We've found that wherever we travel people like to have good beer and Uruguay is no different.

That's it for Uruguay and the Seabourn Antarctic cruise.

PS: That's our new friends Boyd and Cindy in the pool on the last day of the cruise.
