September

September 1st.

Shot of Fish Creek.

It's still looking pretty green but there's something in the air...

A short vid of the same thing

September 4th.

A shot from the park across the street looking west.

The mountains are covered with snow already.

It snowed in south wesetrn Alberta yesterday.

September 7th.

The leaves are definately starting to turn.

Not quite as green as Sept. 1st.

So here's the forecast for the next few days Calgary weather.

I think we gotta get the hell out of here.

So a quick call to WestJet and we're off to Kelowna.

There's a lot of snow in the mountains.

So we get an AirBNB place at Discovery Bay Resort in Kelowna. Pretty decent spot - right on the water although our unit does not have that great of a view. The shot below is from the balcony.

And a few shots of the interior.

This is actually someone's condo and they rent it out when they're not using it. This particuar one is about 1,500 square feet so it really is nice.

September 8th.

A different view from the condo. It's Monday morning now and there's a few clouds but at least there's no snow.

A few shots of the resort from the beach side.

The beach is deserted today. It's not that warm just yet but at least it's not snowing.

There is also a marshland - bird sanctuary on the end of the resort - makes for a nice walk.

A shot of the resort area from across the bay.

And the notorious Ogopogo.

From another angle:

This is a web cam that looks on the sculpture 24 - 7.

Dolphins.

September 12th.

So we get back to Calgary only to find SNOW. This was not part of the plan...we were supposed to have stayed away until the snow was gone.

And look what it did to our poor maple tree.

It was getting too big anyway. Saved us some money trimming it.

So it got warm enough fo us to go for our daily old folks walk in the park.

The park is still looking pretty green.

Except the poplars on the ridge are really starting to turn now - it won't be long.

The big snow dump we had last week really reaked havoc on some of the poplars too.

A wee video showing some of the damage to the trees.

September 21st.

Just back from New York and the trees are really starting to turn. It won't be long now until they'll be bare.

A shot of the park...compare with Sept 1st shot.

September 22nd.

One day later:

And the pool is closed for another eight months!!!!

September 27th.

Fall is definately here.

Light rain today and cool.
