RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed primarily in the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line.
I stole the above words directly from the wikipedia entry
No sense reinventing the wheel eh?
Here's a few pics and I'll add more as time allows:
This is a shot from close by our hotel. The boat is across the water and quite a ways away in reality.
The next two are taken from the entrance to the tour. You enter on the fourth level as some of the lower levels have been converted into a hotel and they don't want the hotel people to have to mingle with the tourist people (or at least that's my theory of why we enter on the 4th level).
The bridge of the boat. This is where the Captain guided the boat across the water.
A lone remaining anti-aircraft gun. During World War II the Queen Mary was converted into a troop carrier and many of these guns were installed. Apparently they were never required even though Hitler offered $250,000 for the sinking of the Queen Mary. Schweinhund!!
The control panel on one of engine rooms.
More to follow.
