Picton
A pretty fun excursion today...we go on a bike ride through some vineyards and then drink a bunch of New Zealand wine.
Picton is at the very tip of the South Island...right across from Wellington which we would have liked to visit...next time
The harbour at Picton isn't much to write home about but at least we're docked and don't have to tender in.
A slightly different angle later in the day. The clouds have gone now.
The scraggly looking trees in the two shots below have been poisoned. They're dead or dying. Don't exactly recall what the deal is but they were planted there for a particular reason but they contributed to flooding somehow and had to be removed..
All the guys have white hair, all the gals do not have white hair...what's up with that?
The guy with no hair is explaining some wine growing things to us..
We all sample some wine straight from the barrel....yum...
Some shots of the landscape as we leave Picton harbour,
So Picton was not the most exciting place but the bike ride was fun and we drank a few nice wines...mostly whites. Were not big white wine fans but like true winos we'll drink whatever's put in front of us.
That's all for Picton.
