Puerto Bolivar, Ecuador
Another really crummy port and another really bad excursion. The only interesting thing about this port was the huge Hapag-Lloyd cargo hauler docked here as well.
I think the people of this town are really trying to attract tourism. They had quite a greeting committee waiting for us. They all seemed so happy that we were there. It's too bad that none of us are ever likely to return.
The excursion we chose seemed like it would be interesting - a trip to a dry tropical forest with a chance to view the wildlife that live there - RIGHT - I saw an ant. Terri saw a squirrel. It was a walk - a slow walk - through a forest mostly without leaves. Really bad.

This petrified snake was as close as we got to seeing a real animal.
The air plants were interesting. We've seen these before but they are still pretty cool. They exist strictly from the mist in the air and the microscopic material carried the wind.
