Johns Family Preserve

Our most recent hike was a fairly simple walk down a hill then back up again. Quite scenic though.

The forest has recovered a lot since the fire of 2003.

This hike is on the south side of Kelowna just south of the community of Kettle Valley. It's about a five minute drive from our house.

If you look at the very centre of the picture and then go straight up to the far side of the lake - that's Knox Mountain that we've hiked up also.

They're building like mad here in Kelowna and what is show below is a fairly new development.

This huge rock is called "The Crags". Apparently young indian dudes, in olden days, would climb it to prove something.

People are climbing it still.

This guy and his girlfriend (I assume) are climbing this rock.
