Today we went to Palm Springs again to hike up another freaking mountain. Apparently a 1400 ft vertical increase. What the hell is wrong with us?
This chart is at the start of the trail. We should have turned around right here.
It was quite the slog but we made it. We stopped many times to catch our breath and there was one, rather ugly, bathroom break. There is a very pissed off snake tonight who can't get into his home!
And off course we took the wrong path to start with and as a result we climbed where hardly anyone had ever been before until we merged with the real path. The picture below shows what appears to be a road and so we (I) thought it was the correct way to go. WRONG!
We finally go on the right track and it was a bit better.
This is a shot of someone's back yard from the path.
The way up!!!
A shot of Palm Springs from a bit further up.
We've on the correct path now.
North Palm Springs - you can see all the wind mills in the distance. There must be a million of 'em.
Same shot from a bit higher up.
This is as high as we're going. Water getting low. No more terlet pepper. Pissed off rattle snake following us. It's time to go down.
A funky cactus.
One thing we've learned from all the hiking so far: Going down is a lot easier than going up.
Second thing we've learned is that beer tastes especially good when it's all over. Here we're at the Blue Coyote Grill in Palm Springs.
Driving home. The windmill farm from a different angle.
