What the heck is bush whacking - bush whacking is a real tough hike through the bush.
With normal hikes you typically follow an established trail - with bush whacking there are no trails. Sometime we'd follow a deer trail but a lot of the time it was just finding your own way in the bush.
We bush whacked four times - it was our favourite activity. Three times with a girl guide - Michelle. She was an excellent bush whacker guide. Once we went with a male guide - Wilson (who would name their son after a volley ball?) and he was ok but not up to Michelle's standards.
Our first bush whack landing spot. Of course you have to be delivered here on a rubber inflatible boat that they call a skiff.
We're dressed warmly. At least three layers. It's easier to take one or two off than to add a layer that you don't have with you when it gets cold.
This is hiking deeeeeep inthe forest.
Bear tracks....and not small ones either!
The gal at the front of the line waving at me is our guide Michelle.
Looks closely - it looks like a huge beast with someone in its mouth.
Michelle thought this would make a good picture - a guest being eaten by a huge beast. The gal was a good sport to go along with it.
A different bush whack and we came across this deserted cabin. The guide - Wilson this time - pretended that this was not planned. Right!
LOTS OF FUN!!!
There's going to be a video here soon!
