Animals
Although we saw animals there were certainly not as many as we saw on our voyage last summer from Seward, Alaska across the Bering Straight to Russian and then to Northern Japan.
I think we were more interested in the scenery on this trip than animals so I wasn't disappointed.
An iceburg covered with birds.
Mountain goats - really a far ways away. Max zoom.
Sea lions soaking up the sun.
Eagles.
Puffins.
And bears.
This was a place where bears were known to live. While we were here about six float planes came in and landed much closer to the bears than we were. I'm sure they got much better photos. The bears didn't give a hoot about the planes so you know it's an every day event. And mean while we're half a mile away trying to get a decent shot.
There are two small bear videos below.
The first one was taken the very first full day we were there. We were on a bush whack and we'd just landed. The bear was a long ways away and I had only my cell phone. I had it zoomed to the maximum and that's why the video goes in and out of focus a bit.
This one was taken with my proper camera but again we were so far away (the fucking ship could have got a lot closer) that the focus is not great,
This is a video taken underwater of a jelly fish. Taken with my GoPro. There were lots of jellyfish in these waters.
And some sea lions we came across one afternoon.
