Saint Petersburg - Day 1

Here we are...

You can see it's a warm sunny day here in St. Pete and I have my Canada short on in case Putin decides to round up yankees today...maybe he'll leave me alone.

Here were waiting for the fountains to start at 11:00AM. I got into a fight with a little Chinese woman who was trying to push in front.

So here we go...fountains on

And here we are again...with tens of thousands of people.

Another shot of the back of Peter Hof. It's truly amazing how the Russian rulers lived in those days.

I wasn't able to get any pictures of the inside as it was forbidden and the last think I want is to end up in the Gulag.

Next we visited St. Isaac's Cathedral

Teri in front of the main door. They don't use this door for day-to-day purposes. It's seriously large.

It's not the St. Peter's at the Vatican but still very impressive.

That was pretty much the end of day one.
