Nuremberg

Nuremberg is where the river portion of the tour started. A three hour bus ride from Prague....whoopeeee!

Nuremberg is known mainly for a couple of things: The huge rallies that Hitler held there before and during WW2 and the War Trials that were held there after the war.

The two pics below show what the rally grounds looked like back then:

And these are what it looks like now:

Terri standing exactly where Hitler gave his speeches. Too bad these assholes couldn't have waited two more seconds while I took my picture.

This huge building was called The Congress Hall was part of the complex. It was never completed. Part of it is now a museum that documents the Nazi's rise to power and then their downfall and the War Trials.

Nuremberg was a major manufacturing centre during WW2 and the allies bombed the shit out of it. A few original buildings survived and they looked like this:

But most of the city now looks like this:

Way to go Allies!

The Nuremberg Castle

Ditto

This is a picture of what the city looked like after the Allies bombed it.

And the shot I took of roughly the same area.

A shot of the city from the tower at the castle.

That's it for Nuremberg
